Trump Defense Production Meeting With Contractors The Trump Defense Production Meeting took place Friday at the White House. President Donald Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth met with leaders from several major defense companies. The meeting occurred as the joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran entered its sixth day. Trump said the discussions focused on expanding weapons production and accelerating manufacturing schedules. Trump later described the meeting in a post on Truth Social. He said the companies agreed to significantly expand output of advanced weapons systems. Trump Defense Production Meeting Focuses on “Exquisite” Weapons According to Trump, the Trump Defense Production Meeting addressed the production of what he called “exquisite class” weaponry. He said manufacturers agreed to quadruple output as quickly as possible. “We discussed Production and Production Schedules,” Trump wrote. He added that companies committed to rapidly reaching the highest production levels. Trump did not explain the exact meaning of the term. However, Bloomberg reported the phrase likely refers to sophisticated precision missiles designed for complex targets. Examples include RTX’s Standard Missile 6 and Tomahawk missiles. Lockheed Martin’s Patriot interceptor known as the MSE is also included. Major Defense Companies Attend the Meeting Several leading defense contractors attended the Trump Defense Production Meeting. Trump said executives from BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and RTX participated. Trump also said the executives will meet with him again in two months. Meanwhile, he noted that production expansion had already begun before the meeting occurred. “Plants and Production of many of these Weapons are already underway,” Trump wrote. Therefore, the administration expects manufacturing increases to continue quickly. Earlier this year, the Pentagon also reached agreements with Lockheed Martin and RTX. Those agreements focused on increasing production of high-demand weapons systems. Weapons Systems Targeted for Production Increase The agreements include increased output of several advanced missile systems. These systems include Patriot air defense missiles and the THAAD missile defense system. Additionally, Standard missiles are part of the expanded production plans. These weapons systems remain in high demand within U.S. military operations. Lockheed Martin confirmed its commitment after the Trump Defense Production Meeting. The company said it will significantly increase production capacity. “We have agreed to quadruple critical munitions production,” the company said in a statement reported by Bloomberg. It added that manufacturing expansion is already underway. Operation Epic Fury and Strategic Objectives White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the Trump Defense Production Meeting had been scheduled before Operation Epic Fury began. The military operation started on Feb. 28. Operation Epic Fury is a joint U.S.-Israeli campaign targeting Iran’s political leadership and military infrastructure. However, Leavitt said the United States already has sufficient weapons stockpiles for the mission. “As the president has maintained, we have more than enough ammunition and weapons stockpiles,” Leavitt said. She added that the operation is progressing toward its objectives. Leavitt said the operation is expected to last four to six weeks. She emphasized that officials believe progress toward the mission goals is already underway. Those objectives include targeting Iran’s leadership and dismantling its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. The campaign also seeks to destroy Iran’s navy and weaken its proxy terror networks. Additionally, the administration said the effort aims to empower Iranians to reclaim their government. Leavitt said the president wants to eliminate threats from Iran to the United States. She also indicated that discussions about Iran’s future leadership may occur. According to Leavitt, Trump is considering potential outcomes for the country’s leadership in the future.
